When booking a flat, villa, or constructing your own home, you’re usually given a standard floor plan but standard doesn’t always mean practical or comfortable.
Our Space Planning review team examines your floor plan and provides simple, practical recommendations to make it more functional, space-efficient, and family-friendly. This may include shifting or removing walls, adjusting door placements for optimal furniture layouts, improving circulation, and enhancing natural light and ventilation.
Finalizing the layout early not only ensures a smarter design but also saves significantly during interiors. With furniture placement decided upfront, electrical points, flooring, and other essentials can be planned in advance — reducing rework, material waste, delays, and overall costs.
The best time to make these changes is at the initial stage with your builder or contractor, who can often accommodate modifications at minimal or no extra cost. Delaying changes can become expensive, time-consuming, and complicated.
Review your builder’s floor plan to ensure it’s practical, check if the proposed furniture layout works or needs adjustments, and make sure the overall layout is efficient, functional, and suited to your lifestyle
Run shortlisted plans through PlanCheck to see which layout works better for you and your family.
Finalize layouts early — this helps you plan other changes upfront, saving time, cost, and rework during interiors.
For clients renovating an existing home, PlanCheck helps reimagine layouts and optimize space, giving you a clear roadmap for practical, efficient, and family-friendly changes.
If you own a plot and are in the early stages of planning your home, we can help you explore initial layout possibilities — ensuring the design makes the best use of the plot’s size, orientation, and regulations before you proceed to detailed design.
